Marking an Important Moment

One year ago I had just purchased and been given access to Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy training. I was feeling a little sick about the cost of the program, but was committed to putting in the time to work through the course material and create the course I knew would be invaluable to some.

I had already gone through her 30-day bootcamp, so I knew that her program recommended contacting people directly to discuss the course and see if you were on the right track. I also knew that she recommended three live launches before automating the course.

A live launch involves inviting people to your live, hour-long webinar, followed by a question and answer session. It is an introduction of who you are, what experience you bring to the table, the sharing of valuable information, and details about your course.

I had a lot of questions around how all the pieces would fit together, the cost of the technology, whether I would be comfortable letting people know about the course before it was even complete, the recording of all the videos tied to each lesson, and, of course, the actual delivery of live webinar itself.

I dreaded presenting for a full hour, three times per launch. I couldn’t imagine doing all those videos. And the amount of effort that went into all of the email marketing, the research and organization around the course content, editing and formatting, . . . I could go on and on.

Let’s just say it was a lot of work.

But today I will be doing the first live webinar of my third launch, and, as promised, it has gotten easier. I love my webinar and I am excited to share it with those coming tonight.

The fact that I am not dry heaving or frozen in fear is a huge win for me. I have learned a lot this year and wanted to mark this moment in time as an important one.

Last night I spent some time working on my next book, and it felt wonderful. I believe I am finally in a place where I can shift my energy back to my creative writing and I look forward to where that story might take me.

I hope you have had an inspirational year and are looking forward to another.
