What Theme Should I Use? What Plugins Should I Choose? … What are Plugins?

The first week after purchasing www.cindyfolkauthor.com (which I found super exciting), I did a lot of work and research. I didn’t enjoy it. It was super frustrating. It was one step forward and two steps back. I knew there were people out there willing to help me – for a price – but then I would be at their mercy for changes. I needed to learn it myself. And, slowly, I am.

So, what theme did I chose? Oceanwp. What plugins? Elementor and I think I will have to upgrade to Elementor Pro if I want to do ecommerce and be able to put in a contact form. So, yes, my inexpensive hobby is growing in cost but it is the price of doing business, I guess.

Oh, and the most exciting plugin moment I’ve had during this process was finding Pixabay Free Images through the plugins search! Because, how the heck are you supposed to design a website without quality images!!
