The Cover Collection
To produce a book that sells on Amazon, you should hire professionals. However, the reality is they cost money. If you are just getting started, you may wish to try less expensive options. I produced the first version of Northern Escape myself using FastPencil. It was a free tool and only cost $5/book to print. The quality was quite good, but not what you would see on the shelves of your local bookstore.
A professional cover designer charges about $700. If this made your heart flip (in a stress-filled way), you may want to try The Cover Collection. The Cover Collection provides premade covers that allow changes to text for about $250, a far more reasonable price. The covers are beautifully made and accepted by experts within the indie author community.
