Growing Your Email List
Understandably, growing your list is hard to do. People don’t want to give up their personal information only to be bombarded with emails that they have no time to read. To date my email list is only 28 people long. Primarily this includes family and friends who have signed up for my newsletter or to receive a signed copy of my book.
So, how do you get more people on your email list and why even bother?
Perhaps the second question is the bigger of the two. Why bother? Only recently did I come across an answer to this that made sense.
Your website is the only real estate that you own. Facebook and Instagram can change their rules at any time. They own your followers and you could lose them at any time. I saw this happen to a photographer on Facebook. He was just about to release a calendar and lost thousands of followers just before he had a chance to advertise to them. How frustrating! So, yes, now I understand why you might want those contacts. It gives you the ability to contact them directly when you have something of value to offer.
