The Public Lending Right Program

I’ve talked about the Public Lending Right program in Canada that pays an author for having their book in the library system. Well, here is proof that it is real! My first cheque. It’s not going to pay the bills quite yet, but every little bit helps.

The other neat thing is that their building is a 9 minute walk to the Lieutenant’s Pump where my fictional character Grace hops on a bus to a northern fishing camp for an artists’ retreat to hide from a dangerous partner in my book—the book that the program is paying me for—Northern Escape. Kind of a cool coincidence!
