For many years I knew my life was missing something—a focus or project that was mine and only mine, but I didn't know what that was. I was stuck. Writing my novel gave me purpose. It gave me an outlet for all that creative energy. It allowed me a place to share all those thoughts and experiences, and it let me prove to myself that I had more to offer the world.
