Making What Is Important a Priority
Renovating a house is much like writing a book. It is a lot of hard work, it can get messy, you might need to seek the help of a physio for repetitive strain injuries, and you may feel like you will never get to the finish line.
However, while most people will finish a home renovation, many start but don’t finish writing a book.
The difference? The perceived value.
While needing a roof over our heads is more important than uploading a manuscript to Amazon, that may be the only real difference between why we get the job done. The perception of its importance is what gets something finished or keeps us from completing it.
Writing a book is not on everyone’s To Do list. We all have interests, and completing a manuscript may not be one of them. But if it IS something you want to do, increase its importance in your life. Prioritize your writing over other optional things, and it will get done.
