Take a Break When You Need To

I took time between my first and second book because I needed a break. To continue at that time would have felt like work. So I waited and focused on other aspects of the writing process until I felt the excitement again.

Then, once that feeling hits, I get started, and some things have to wait, including my laundry, so I can completely immerse myself in the writing of my book.

I don't like the guilt people put on themselves about their writing. Unless it is your occupation, what is the rush? For me, writing is a hobby that I love. When it stops being fun, I will stop writing.
